Whether you're looking for part-time after school sitter or a full-time nanny on UrbanSitter, you can now save your searches with specific filters to view sitters who meet your search criteria. You can receive notifications of new matches instantly so you won't miss out on your family's perfect sitter!
Starting Your Search
You can also get started straight from the Search page by filtering your search by Type: Full-time sitters/nannies or Part-time sitters/nannies. Once you've applied your preferred filters, click the green 'Save Search' button.
Refining and Saving Your Search
After you select your search type, we'll pull some quick details from your parent Profile (such as number of children and home address) to quickly get you started on your search. When you click 'Continue', you'll also be prompted to post your job's need to the sitter community where sitters can express their interest in your job. Learn more about posting a job here.
Once you've started your search, you can apply additional filters and sorting options to the left of the page. In the 'Generally Available' section, click the 'Edit' button to select general times during the day that you need a sitter for. Clicking 'Apply' will filter your search results by sitters who are generally available for those times.
Under 'More Filters' you can refine your search results by applying filters including distance from you, maximum rate, languages spoken, special experiences and qualifications, and transportation options. You can also search by name and sort your results by best match, lowest rate, most reviews, connected to me, and closest distance.
Click 'Update Saved Search' to apply these filters and update your search results. You'll be prompted to enter a custom name for your search and select when to receive email notifications. Click 'Save' to update!
Viewing Your Search Results
Navigate to the Saved Searches page to view and make changes to your saved searches. You'll see an overview of each search including the date created, applied filters, and your email notification settings. Choose to receive email notifications of new matches 'Instantly' or 'Never'. This is also where you can delete a search after you've found your perfect sitter.
Click the green title of your search to get started viewing sitters. Here's where you'll see a list of available sitters who match your search criteria and any applied filters. On the left of the page, you can make changes to your preferred sitter's general availability by clicking 'Edit' below the mini calendar. Under 'More Filters', feel free to add, remove, or update any filters that meet your childcare need.
Every time that you make an update to your search (such as applying a new filter or changing your search type), you'll be prompted to either update your existing search with these changes or save your updates as a new search. Customize the name of your search and your email notifications here as well!
While browsing your search results, each sitter will have a snapshot of their profile and sitter history including their general availability, average review rating, common social groups, and any previous bookings or messages you've exchanged. If you see a sitter who looks like a good fit for your family,
- click their profile picture or name to view their full profile, availability calendar, and reviews
- click the heart button to save them to 'Your Favorites'
- send them an Interview request or Booking request by clicking the grey and green buttons
- send them a quick introductory message by clicking the 'Message' button
When you opt in to instant email notifications, you'll be notified via email when new sitters meet your search criteria. Here's an example of new sitter Ariel M. matching a parent's Full-time Search. Click the link access Ariel's profile or click the button to view all your matches.
