How to purchase an upgraded background check or driving record check for a caregiver

Beyond the basic background check requirement, families and care seekers can purchase an upgraded background check or driving record check package for a caregiver. Upgraded and driving checks are processed through our background check partner Checkr.

Upgraded background check packages 

We offer two upgraded background check packages, Pro and Premium.

A Pro package includes: 

• County Criminal Search (Current)*
• Federal Criminal Search (Last 10 Years)
• National Criminal Search (Standard)
• Sex Offender Search
• SSN Trace
• Global Watchlist Search

*County of residence, self-reported by caregiver

A Premium package includes:

• County Criminal Search (Last 7 Years)
• Federal Criminal Search (Last 10 Years)
• National Criminal Search (Standard)
• Sex Offender Search
• SSN Trace

Driving record check packages

A driving or Motor Vehicle Record check package requires a valid driver’s license to pass and searches a caregiver's driving history. An MVR check includes: 

• Driver's license validity
• Accidents in the last 3 years
• Moving violations in the last 3 years
• Cell phone or distracted driving violation in the past 3 years
• Major violation in the past 5 years
• Driver must be over 18

We aren’t authorized to disclose a caregiver’s background check. Therefore, your caregiver will need to disclose their results at their discretion. For specifics about how Checkr processes background checks, review their help articles here.
