Parents who use FSA benefits in accordance with UrbanSitter pay their sitters for each booking via credit card. At the end of the year (or benefit period), parents are then welcome to request a spreadsheet detailing their booking and payment history from our Member Services team. You can do so by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. This information can be also easily viewed on the Transactions page of your UrbanSitter account at any time!
For more information on how paying sitters through UrbanSitter works, check out our How do I pay sitters via credit card? FAQ.
Our team is able to collect your booking and payment information for this spreadsheet such as: sitter name, hours worked, hourly rate, job type, total amount paid to sitter, number of children babysat for, and more.
As a note, every FSA provider has unique conditions regarding claims. To help us provide the best service to you, please contact your provider for final confirmation that you can use those funds to pay sitters on UrbanSitter. Please also confirm what details are needed for them to verify your claim, such as children's names, job location, etc.
Please note that when it comes to end of year taxes or FSA reports, we share UrbanSitter's records or EIN in correlation to the fees paid directly to UrbanSitter. It is our understanding that to claim babysitter hours and the payment made for tax or expense purposes, you will need to obtain the SSN of the sitters. Each sitter would need to provide that to you on an individual basis. For more information and resources on filing your childcare taxes or claiming childcare expenses for your FSA, please feel free to review this blog article at any time. Also, some parents on UrbanSitter have successfully synced their FSA debit cards with their UrbanSitter account to pay sitters through our online payment tool. Again, these type of cards each come with their own unique set of restrictions and we encourage you to contact the card provider for details.
