How to use my benefit to pay caregivers

If your benefit includes Care Credits, you can use them to pay caregivers on UrbanSitter for their services. You can view your Care Credits on your dashboard under ‘Care benefits’. To learn more, see How to view my benefit details and Care Credits.

How to start

To start using your Care Credits, 

1. Enroll in your benefit. Sign up here to enroll (or use the unique URL provided by your company or organization). Learn more in How to enroll in my benefit.
2. Add a card to your account. A credit card is required before you can book and pay through UrbanSitter. Available Care Credits are applied first toward eligible bookings, and any remaining balance is charged to your card. To learn more, see How to add a payment method.
3. Book using credit card as your payment method. When booking a caregiver, select credit card to apply your Care Credits. If you have questions about which care services are eligible for Care Credit use, please review your benefit details or check with your employer for more information.

If your benefit includes bringing on your own provider, have them sign up and create an account with our payment processor, Branch, to receive credit payments. Learn more in How to bring on my own provider to UrbanSitter.

How paying with Care Credits works

When your booking ends and it’s time to pay, your available Care Credits will automatically apply to the total for eligible bookings. Be sure to submit your payment before your credits expire so they can be applied. Here is what to expect:

1. Your caregiver confirms the hours worked, and you receive a notification.
2. Go to the booking page and click Confirm hours and pay
3. Review the payment summary — your Care Credits will appear under Discounts applied
   • To pay with personal funds instead, click the “X” under Discounts applied. Your credit card will then be charged the full amount.
   • Some employers require certification that your booking meets their benefit policy before Care Credits can be applied. If required, you'll be prompted during checkout to review your employer's policy and certify that your booking is eligible. Select "View Employer Policy" to learn more. 
4. Add an optional tip and message
5. Click Continue, then Yes, Confirm Payment
6. Credit is deducted from your available credits, and any remaining balance is charged to your card
7. Caregiver receives payment via our payment processor, Branch.

You can view payments, including how much credit was used for completed bookings, on your Transactions page under Booking Payments. On the web, click on your profile picture > Transactions in the drop-down menu. On the UrbanSitter app, tap more > Account > Transactions.
